The Apostles KNEW (didn't know): which is it??? Something fishy!

bibliolaters preach that the bible is an inerrant work of unity and harmony so perfect that it can be explained only by the doctrine of verbal inspiration.

it makes great sermon fodder to feed to gullible pulpit audiences, but this discrepancy in what the apostles didn't know but should have known about an impending resurrection of their leader is a glitch in the bible that must be explained before rational people can accept the inerrancy theory.. john's account of the resurrection has peter and another disciple running to the empty tomb after hearing from mary magdalene that the body of jesus was gone.

the unnamed disciple, outrunning peter, arrived at the tomb first and waited:.

Terry I did the same thing you did for 33 years! When I found out that what I had believed was not true,I could not accept that I had been duped all those years. The very strong desires implanted in me concerning living forever in heaven ( Catholic upbringing ) living forever on a paradise earth ( Watchtower upbringing ) led me on "The Search For Truth" concerning these two conflicting teachings.

I have concluded, and not very lightly, that the only way I could ever accept for myself what is true when it comes from men and their teachings including all the various culuters, disciplines and 'Holy Writings' of other belief systems, is by having an epiphany.

Not withstanding that, I have reached my stopping point at Deism.

Thank you for all your topics and post responses you make with such clarity.

Blondie! Your comments you will not hear is very refreshing. When you help us read between the lines with documented support you give us a breath of fresh air.

I have been reading your 'comments' since 2002 and have always found you to be a very fair and direct person in your comments.

When someone reads these comments they have to acknowledge that there is something very wrong with those who actually sit down and write these articles.

They continue to sprinkle these articles with the false hope that the end is near, the carrot is always dangling before their eyes, and it is this lure that keeps them from understanding your comments.

Blondie we don't know how many persons you have helped over the years with your comments, however, many have responded in a positive way, including yours truly.

No longer a captive and leading a refreshing life outside the walls of the watchtower.

The spirit is the life-force, impersonal, it cannot feel pain or bliss. God determines whether or not to grant life again. Meanwhile, non-existence/ sleep. Again no heaven or hell at the time of death.

Tell me please, are other belief systems and cultures wrong when it comes to their 'Holy Writngs" from their Gods?

Why only the Bible? Why not all religious holy writing from all cultures and all belief systems.

Me thinks, Man has brought about all this "BALONEY."

Go ahead and read Carl Sagen's The Demon Haunted World Science as a Candle in The Dark. Chapter 12 The Fine Art of Baloney Detection. Then give me an answer to the test of all of these writings.

Think also about Lazarus...four days in nowhere, Jesus says he is sleeping, he stinks, starting to turn into dust. No firery burning hell, no blissful heaven.

Everything gets turned around when all kinds of belief systems come to the fore.

It's ok to want to go to heaven and be with God and to live forever in paradise. That's normal to want these things. Each one of us has to look inwards and latch on to our own life experiences with our belief system, based on the scriptures or personal contact with God, Jesus etc.

The debates will go on and on.

Dogpatch has given us much to digest, especially the two articles on Hell which I received from him years ago.

What about these words in Genesis: "Dust you are and dust you shall return."

Plain and simple. Man adds to those words with all kinds of gymnastics putting other words in place of this direct statement from God to Adam.

Death was the punishment, nothing need be added.

However, because man wrote the words, and years, centuries have come and gone, it all gets 'lost in translation.'

Crop circle appears with Jesus "Shroud of Turin " face.

the images, which appear to resemble the face of jesus as he appears in the turin shroud (if, indeed, the image in the turin shroud is that of jesus), have appeared on either side of the m4 motorway in hungerford.. .

both crop circles are almost identical and are both 250 feet in diameter.

The shroud is not Jesus. John writes that there was a separate cloth for his head. One for his body and one for his head. That does away with the shourd being that of Jesus.

The account tells us that inside the tomb there was the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in and then points out that there is the linen that covered his head along side the body cloth.
